Dear visitors,

with sadness in our eyes, it's our obligation to inform you that our loving RR Amor has been put to sleep forever on 20th December 2004. The reason is illness called Leishmaniosis.

Many of you who had encountered this illness, know that it hits dogs skin, limb knots, hair, etc.

Unfortunately, leishmaniosis hit Amor's central nerve system and he didn't have any other indication of that illness. Cause of that, he was not diagnosed and treated for leishmaniosis (by private veterinarians) from beginning of illness and that caused leishmaniosis to progress.

Then we went with Amor to Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb and he was diagnosed correctly by examining his brain's liquid.

In next 2 days we found medication and started to treat Amor with complex combination of drugs. He was treated with daily high dosage of Alopurinol and every 3 days he got Amphotericin B in combination with other drugs to save his kidneys. In 3 weeks he lost 9 kg of weight.

At the end, some kind of arthritis had developed on his front legs.

All the time he had very little or none response in rear legs, he was lying all the time for several weeks. Apart from this, he was lucid all the time, eating more than usually, drinking water as necessary and internal organs were ok.

Blood results were coming better and better every time but atrophy of his rear legs was too bad. Prognosis was less than 5% for recovery.

Unfortunately than we had to do the worst thing in our live.
